Project methodology

The project requires a methodological follow-up for the realization of the stages of design and realization of the experiments of simulation.

Methodological approach

The project will follow an original cross-disciplinary methodology, with the development of powerful numerical strategies for on-the-fly data assimilation, real-time accurate damage diagnosis and prognosis, adaptive hybrid modeling (mixing physics-based models and data-based learning techniques), and guaranteed command synthesis.

It will combine some advanced concepts and tools coming from applied mathematics, computer science and computational mechanics.

Purposes

This methodology will be implemented and validated on representative lab experiments with composite or concrete structures. Also, a proof-of-concept with specific equipments will be performed, the goal being to preserve the integrity of a large structure under controlled loading.
